Transitions Counselling Services
"The moment in between what you once were, and who you are now becoming, is where the dance of life really takes place." — Barbara De Angelis
Transitions Counselling Services was the dream of two best friends - Laureen Mitchell and Sarah Michelle Ogden. They wanted to create a safe, welcoming place where staff and clients alike felt valued, cared for and celebrated. They wanted to create an atmoshphere of love and caring, where difficult, courageous conversations could be had, and respect and kindness were always at the forefront. A place where their friendship, and from that, their relationships with their clients, came first and were never compromised. They wanted to provide best-practice, evidence-based and trauma-informed compassionate care to the community. They wanted to, where at all possible, remove the barriers to care, by ensuring a percentage of their caseloads were reserved for clients who may not be able to afford the fees typically associated with psychotherapy. They envisioned a place where all felt safe and comfortable, a place where diversity was celebrated and nourished. Out of this dream and vision, Transitions was born. The grand opening was in April 2018. Sarah Michelle and Laureen operated the clinic together until Laureen's unexpected passing in 2022.
Transitions was then operated in partnership between Sarah Michelle and Andrew Vanderstoop from 2023-Oct 31, 2024. Presently Sarah Michelle is on maternity leave to return Nov 2025. Transitions is delighted to welcome Tiffany Sagle MACP, RP(Q) to the team as of July 2024. We are also pleased to be the Campbellford location, until Oct 31, 2024 for Shannon Azzarello MACP, RP, and her practice Kind-Natured Psychotherapy.
Transitions offers individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as group therapy and programs. We also offer Transitions Career Counselling Services. Watch our pages for more information to come on the types of therapy and services provided.
